Tu Face, 9ice, Damasus, others storm Makurdi on democracy day

D.R.E.A.M.S pointer International; publishers of Motivation Magazine, have concluded plans to hold a musical concert in Benue State. The event is aimed at celebrating Nigeria’s growing democracy as well as the entertainment industry as a whole. The music fiesta, aimed at honoring Nigeria’s 10th Democracy day has been fixed for May 29, 2009. According to the CEO of D.R.E.A.M.S pointer International- Love Idoko, ‘besides providing quality entertainment, the concert will provide a platform where the giant strides of the governor of Benue state, Governor Gabriel Suswam, will be showcased Tu Face Speaking exclusively from her Benue base, Idoko says ‘we’ve confirmed performances from artistes like Tu face Idibia, 9ice, Six foot plus, Kefee, Romeo 14 and Age Beeka. And it is certain they are performing at the concert’ Age Beeka who started performing on stage at the age of ten is recognized all over for his skills in playing the key board, percussion instruments and the guitar. His debut album ‘Age’ hit the industry in 2003, and his hit single ‘Angelica’ ruled the airwaves that period. Tu face Idibia is one of Nigeria’s most renowned hit makers. Since the release of his first solo album in 2004, he has brewed hit songs upon hit songs. His last album ‘Unstoppable’ was released under his self-owned record label- Hypertek records. 9ice who first hit lime light in 2007 with his hit single ‘Gongo Aso’ is known for his ability to thrill the crowd with his songs which are usually laced with parables. He presently has four new acts signed under his own record label- Alapomeji records, which was also responsible for his second album-‘Gongo Aso’ Also expected to perform are Nollywood acts Nkem Owoh, Ramsey Nouah and Comedian I Go die. All the entertainers are leaving everything behind in Lagos state which has been tagged the centre of entertainment in Africa to storm Benue in recognition of the state’s interest in Arts and Entertainment as well as to find new opportunities. According to Idoko ‘This is the least we can do for a state that has witnessed massive infra structural development and fiscal discipline since the governor took over. It is in recognition of his strong leadership and good governance in Benue State as well as success in national assignments that he was named Governor of Stella Damasus the year by Thisday newspapers and Europe Business Assembly(EBA’s) International Socrates Awards of the Oxford University in London U.K. Musical acts like Blackface, Tu Face Idibia and Six foot plus grew up on the streets of Benue where they developed their talent before heading to conquer the world. Other prominent artistes from Benue state include Age Beeka, Terry da Rapman, Zaaki and Zule Zoo. A graduate of Microbiology from the Kogi State University, Love Idoko started off as a writer who launched her first book titled ‘Celebrating Change’ at the age of 17, she is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, UK Nigerian brand. The concert will hold on May 29, 2009 at the Ibrahim Babaginda Square Markudi, Benue State and will be anchored by celebrated actress Stella Damasus and Singer, MC and Comedian Gordons.
